India is a young nation-a country with a young population. Education in all its aspects is a resource that the country today must make available to the youth to enable them to participate in and contribute to their own growth as well as that of the nation. In our own small way, we at Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation (VDF) wish to contribute to this effort. VDF was created to help widen our nation’s technological base by providing high quality education through a creative balance of academic, professional and extracurricular programmes. We have invested strategically in the most important resources-infrastructure, faculty and programmes. We at VDF are confident that our graduates, well equipped with technical knowledge, good communication skills and the confidence to compete successfully in the global arena, will contribute to the national base of engineering, science and technology and take our country forward.

Welcome to VDF School of Pharmacy! We aim to increase knowledge about drugs and medicines through high quality teaching and research and thereby improve the quality of life through best use of medicines. Pharmacy has been inseparable from mankind’s history since it fulfils one of our most basic needs. As man made his way through remote times or places, he reached out, often blindly, towards the resources of nature for cures and remedies of diseases and in the process gradually developed pharmaceutical theories, techniques and implements. The person supplying this essential service is known as a Pharmacist in modern times though he has been designated in a variety of ways throughout the ages. Pharmacy is a profession concerned with an applied science of preparing from natural and synthetic sources suitable and convenient materials for distribution and use in the treatment and prevention of diseases.

It embraces knowledge of the identification, selection, pharmacological action, preservation, combination, analysis and standardization of medicines and their proper and safe distribution and use. A specialist in medications and the outcomes of their use on the healthy and sick must have a broad scientific education. The Pharmacy course is designed to give the student a solid groundwork in the relevant sciences. VDF School of Pharmacy is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere (DBATU) and recognized by DTE and Government of Maharashtra. The institute offers Bachelor of Pharmacy consisting of four academic years with 60 Intake capacity. The School is free-standing specialist school dedicated entirely to teaching and research in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences; with good teaching and a top rated research quality profile. VDF School of Pharmacy has an experienced and knowledgeable faculty and the students to access to the latest technologies and to well-equipped laboratories. The institution will encourage students and the faculty by offering facilities for attending International and National conferences. It will support and gives additional training for the students in research activities other the prescribed curriculum.
